Netapp Basic introduction
Introduction : Netapp filer also know as Netapp Fabric-Attached Storage (FAS) ,
It is unified storage which supports both NAS(Network
Attached Storage) and SAN(Storage Area Network) Technology.
History : Netapp was created in 1992 by David Hitz , James Lau and Michael Malcolm.HeadQuater : Sunnyvale , California US

FAS/V-Series Storage Systems
FAS2200 Series – The NetApp
FAS2220 and FAS2240 are entry-level systems , It support up to 432TB of raw
capacity and 144 disk drives.
FAS3200 Series – The FAS3200 is
the NetApp midrange data storage. They support up to 2160TB of raw capacity, 720
disk drives, up to 40GB of memory, 2TB Total Flash.
FAS6200 Series – The FAS6200
series architecture is Enterprise level Storage. It Support up to 4320TB of raw
capacity , 1440 drives , , up to 192GB of memory, and as much as 16TB Total
Flash.
V-Series – NetApp
V-Series open storage controllers enable users to manage storage arrays from
multiple storage vendors—including EMC, Fujitsu, IBM,
Hewlett-Packard, and Hitachi Data Systems—in
a consistent way and with less effort. V-Series gives native support for SAN
and NAS protocols. Scale with V-Series by adding capacity to current storage
system or by attaching NetApp disk shelves.
